On our way back from Wilcox Pass, we made a quick stop at Mistaya Canyon. It’s an easy 1km out and back trail that leads you to a thundering river canyon, so it’s big bang for your buck.
The trail heads down on a gentle slope until it reaches the bridge that crosses the canyon.
The rock formations in this narrow and deep canyon was quite gorgeous. (Get it? Gorge-ous?)
- Difficulty – easy
- View – great view of a river canyon
- Traffic volume – light
- Facilities – we forgot to check for toilets
- Overall score – 6/10 (by Rockies standards)
